5 Ways to Cultivate a More Positive Lifestyle
It’s the small changes that make the biggest difference.
Ever since I made the decision to go sober again, I made a declaration- I want to live a more positive lifestyle. When we take a step back and think about that though, what does it mean to live a positive life?
I think an obvious conclusion most would come to would be to be a “good” person. But that’s always felt really vague to me as your definition of “good” and mine could be entirely different. So instead of telling you how to be a good person, I think we should focus on ways to be more content with life. Give some of these a try and hopefully, you’ll feel more balanced in your day to day life.
End every negative statement with “but…”
Admittedly, I can default to complaining pretty quickly so this one was the most important for me. The idea of this method is not to try to not say anything negative but to end it in a positive way. So if you see that it’s cloudy outside and think “Ugh, it’s so dreary outside today”, then follow it up with something positive like “…but it’s not muggy and that breeze feels nice.” Easy, right?
It’s all about making that shift from a negative thought to a positive one. The end result is either neutral or it will…
