How To Declutter Your Pantry While You’re in Quarantine

Because now you have the time, right?

I’ll admit it- I’m a homebody, I spend a lot of time outside of work hanging out at home. I have everything I need at home- four cuddly animals, Netflix, a computer, and food. I used to think that with how I already hang out alone most of the time, this quarantine would be a piece of cake.

With commute and the time I spend at work, that’s actually 10 hours I spend outside of my home every day. Even though I’m pretty good about prepping my meals ahead of time, sometimes I would still go out for lunch with coworkers or eat snacks that my office provided. There would be times that I would open the fridge and realize that something in there had gone bad. It would be a cycle of throwing out old food and then replenishing it with the same but fresh.

Now that I’m home, the only food I have is what’s at home and it’d be irresponsible to keep making grocery trips while this pandemic is going on. Thinking on the positive side of things, this is a great opportunity to really self-reflect and think about our relationship with food.

We have a chance to reassess how we approach food and it’s more important than ever to do so. It only takes a little time, and just a few steps, to make sure that you’re efficient with the food you keep at your home.
