How I’ll change my workout and diet to train like Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn in 2020.

When it comes to fitness, I haven’t had a lot of direction. I know what I like: I love bouldering, and I want to be dexterous and strong. How I’ll get there and what I’ll do with my skills are things I couldn’t pin down.

I looked for sources of inspiration in YouTube videos, Instagram profiles, and general online guides on body building completely overlooking probably the easiest source, video games. This is specifically about the character, Aloy, in the game Horizon: Zero Dawn and what she did to prepare for her ultimate test in fitness, the Proving.

This workout will in the “beginner” phase.

Game Synopsis

From the Wikipedia page, Horizon: Zero Dawn focuses on Aloy, an outcast from a nearby hunter-gatherer tribe, in a post apocalyptic world centuries in the future that has been overrun by robotic creatures. Because of various events that led to the current timeline of the game that you’ll find out, their access to technology is very limited and humans are back to living in tribes. The Nora especially, worship an archaic door from the technological past that they have called All-Mother.
