It Was My First Day Sober

So why was it the easiest day I’ve had in a while?

Today was my first day sober and you know how they say the first day is the hardest? In my previous attempts, the first day always felt like an aching, I had wanted alcohol so badly.

Why was this day one better? It ended up being the easiest day for me and I know it was because I had fully prepared for all things that could distract or tempt me.

So what was my first day of sobriety like?

Started the day off right

What better way to get yourself into the mindset of physical and mental health than start the day off buying all the groceries for the week? I had woken up at 7am, taken care of my pets, and then got ready to go to the store. I gave myself no time to think about anything else and it was the perfect distraction.

It felt good getting this errand out of the way so early in the day and since I was buying healthy options, felt like I was starting off my week and sobriety off right.

Seeing the fresh vegetables, sparkling water, and eggs really made me feel like I made a good decision. And waking up early to do it felt like I had started off on the right foot. I had plans later on in the day so I even meal prepped so I wouldn’t have to worry about what I would be eating during…
