Stop making ridiculous New Year’s resolutions
Unless you’re prepared to make concrete plans for them.
It’s the new year! And with the new year comes the flood…to the gym. Or to Whole Foods for your new vegetarian lifestyle. Or the…you get the idea. There’s an idea that people have in mind for their ideal selves but no plan to get there. So we get the gym memberships, we buy the vegetables, or we make investments that we hope that will finally work in our favor this year.
If you read my other article, I’m a strong believer that you don’t need the start of the year to make a resolution. The only people that profit off of a new year’s resolution are the ones who literally make money off the fact that you’ll sign up for that gym membership or subscription to vitamins/supplements and forget to cancel. Since it’s all about you becoming your ideal person, let’s focus on you.
You should think about what you want to achieve, make a plan for it, and then iterate on it as you work towards your goal. Having a date in mind like January 1st is okay but you need to be prepared to alter your resolution or at least commit to them a bit further.
