If you can relate to these, it might be a problem.

Like the title says, these are all of the things that I thought was “normal” until I found out it wasn’t. Now that I’ve been sober for almost a year, I can’t believe I thought any of that was okay and I’m happy to say things are much better now.

You’ve googled “Am I an alcoholic?”…or “signs of an alcoholic”

This is a low hanging fruit of reasons but definitely the biggest sign.

If you feel the need to ask Google for signs that you might have a drinking problem, you have a drinking problem.

When I was still drinking heavily, I actually Googled those to justify my desire to keep drinking. But checking off every box for what makes an alcoholic made me realize that only an alcoholic would think they need to confirm they weren’t.

Your entire day revolves around alcohol

This is for when you find yourself declining events that are alcohol free or finding things to do that involve alcohol.

Weekends were all about uninhibited drinking when I wasn’t sober. Breakfast might mean mimosas, then lunch with a margarita, hanging out with friends and drinking cocktails and finishing off with beers at home…
